Directions to Bill Walden's House in Wayne County, KY (Click for a map)

If you are approaching from the west via KY 90 or traveling US route 127:

1. Go east on KY Rt. 90 toward Monticello, KY.
2. Once past US Rt 127 watch for Rt 1009.
3. After passing Rt. 1009, Rt 90 will go down into the Otter Creek Valley and you will cross a bridge.
4. Once on the east side of the valley watch for KY Rt 834. Turn left (north) on to Rt. 834. (There is a cabinet factory on the right just past 834.)
5. 834 will tee in to Rt 1546. Turn left and continue north.
6. After turning on to 1546 you will go through the micro-village of Stop, KY. The Stop church is on the left and the Stop cemetery is on the right.
7. Continue north on 1546.
8. Watch for new pavement. When you encounter the new pavement, slow down, you are almost there.
9. The next landmark is the Cabell Community Church on the right. It is a brick church. (+ on the map)
10. Turn left on to Old Sawmill Road just before the Cabell Community Church. There are lots of realtor signs there.
11. My house is the 4th or 5th house on the right. It is a one story house with a two story garage.

1. Go west on KY 90 toward Monticello.
2. Note your odometer reading as you pass the Wal-Mart Store. It is about 12 miles from the Wal-Mart store to my house.
3. Continue west on KY 90 past Monticello.
4. On the west side of Monticello, 90 will go down into the Beaver Creek Valley and cross the Beaver Creek Bridge.
5. On the west side of the valley there will be a passing lane.
6. ½ mile past the end of the passing lane turn right on to Rt. 1546 and follow the yellow line. At one point 1546 makes a hard left. If you miss the turn, you lose the yellow line. Should you miss the turn, just keep going.
7. If you stayed on 1546 you will pass Rt. 834, the route for cavers coming from the west. Continue on 1546 and on through the micro-village of Stop, KY. The Stop church is on the left and the Stop cemetery is on the right.
8. Continue north on 1546.
9. Watch for new pavement. When you encounter the new pavement, slow down, you are almost there.

11. Turn left on to Old Sawmill Road just before the Cabell Community Church. There are lots of realtor signs there.

    If you miss the hard left on 1546...

1. Should you have missed the hard left on 1546 and lost the yellow line just keep going. This road will tee into 1546. Turn left on to 1546 and continue north albeit slowly because you are almost there.
2. Watch for new pavement. When you encounter the new pavement, slow down, you are almost there.
3. The next landmark is the Cabell Community Church on the right. It is a brick church. (+ on the map)
4. Turn left on to Old Sawmill Road just before the Cabell Community Church. There are lots of realtor signs there.
5. My house is the 4th or 5th house on the right. It is a one story house with a two story garage.

Parking:

I have plenty of parking. Just before my house you may park on the grass.

Notification

Please let me know if you are coming and when so I can plan on having enough but not too much food.

Trips

• We will plan both tour trips and working trips of caves along Otter Creek. If you plan to visit Triple-S cave, you will need to fill out and sign a release for the owners, Herlon Buck and Charles Gibbs.
• All trips at Redmond Creek will be working trips – survey, photography, research, etc.
